Philips Hue introduce New Outdoor Lightstrips and More

After recently introducing a large series of new outdoor lighting products to coincide with summer (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), Philip Hue have also introduced new Hue White and Colour Outdoor lightstrips. These lightstrips come in 2 metre and 5 metre versions and are designed specifically for outdoor use, being ‘completely weatherproof’ according to the meethue website, which goes on to stateThe LightStrip can withstand small puddles and water jets from any direction, so do not worry if rain is unexpectedly predicted.”. The strips, unlike their indoor counterparts, don’t have an adhesive backing, but rather use a series of provided clips and screws, to attach to a wall or fence.

The other recent outdoor lighting product to be introduced, which we had listed a while back, is the Lily Outdoor Pot Light, which is essentially a small spot light that can be angled and placed in the garden with the use of the provided garden spike. As with the outdoor lightstrip, this is full colour, being capable of reproducing the standard 16 million shades of colour.

In addition to the aforementioned outdoor lights, Hue have also released a set of indoor lighting products specifically for use in the bathroom, under the ‘Adore’ monicker. These include a ceiling lamp, an illuminated mirror, a mirror lamp that can be placed above your preferred bathroom mirror, and an Adore Spotlight. All of these lighting products come supplied with a standard Hue Dimmer Switch for added value and convenience.

Finally, Hue have brought out two new hanging ceiling light fixtures, one called ‘Devote’ with the other named ‘Explore’, both of which are long, thin and understated lamps that almost looks as though they’re simply bulbs, with quite minimalist bulb recesses.

It must be noted that not all of these products are available in all territories, but its likely that they will be available in most western countries at some point, if they’re not already available.

Whilst there are many smart lighting companies out there with some great products, it has to be said that the Philips Hue line is hard to beat in terms of sheer choice.
