August Auto Unlock Tech Comes to Yale Smart Locks

After Yale bought August earlier this year, the latter’s auto-unlock technology will now come to Yale’s own smart locks.. The Verge, reports that Yale has started selling a new US$129 module that can be inserted into some of its locks to add the aforementioned auto-unlock technology retroactively.

Yale is also beginning to sell locks that already come with the August module to provide a “fully in-house solution for remote access”.

This new August module will provide Yale locks with the features that come with the August smart locks, including the August’s own auto-unlock feature, which automatically unlocks your door when you arrive home.

Yale’s two new ‘Assure’ locks products that come with the August module are now available for US$279 and US$299 respectively.
