DEAL! OSRAM Smart+ Plug only £14.99 Amazon UK [EXPIRED]

There’s a limited time deal on right now, where the HomeKit compatible Osram Smart+ plug has been reduced from £34.99 to just £14.99 – a saving of £20.00 or 57%. You’ll have to hurry though, as the deal ends at midnight UK time.

The basic specs for this Bluetooth based UK plug are;

  • OSRAM SMART + UK plug | Bluetooth switchable socket | remote controlled | for control of any plug-in device in your smart home
  • For Android smartphones: download the free OSRAM smart + App from the play store and use the app to control the smart + Bluetooth product directly without the need for any additional devices
  • Compatible with Alexa and the Google Assistant: control your smart + Bluetooth products via voice command with the inclusion of the smart + App
  • Compatible with Siri: control your smart + Bluetooth products via voice command thanks to the inclusion in the Apple Home app
  • Meets all EU/UK safety requirements for plugs/adapters (overload protection, over-temperature protection and hot plug protection)
  • The smart socket – in addition to lights, you can also integrate all other electric devices in your smart home

    Damn, looks like I just missed this deal. Not sure I can justify £30 on this knowing it was £15 a few hours ago… Shame

      It’ll probably come back down again for the Amazon Prime sales.

    As an FYI, these things have a few limitations.

    As a Bluetooth device, they need a HomeKit hub to enable remote control outside the home network, so an AppleTV or HomePod.

    They don’t work with Google Assistant – the feature is “coming soon” with no ETA

    If you wan’t to use another voice assistant, like Alexa or Google (when it ships), you have to set it up in the Android app – there is no iOS app as it only uses the Apple Home app.

    You cannot pair the plug to HomeKit and Alexa at the SAME TIME – if you use the Android app to set the plug up, it’s not recognised in HomeKit. If you pair it to HomeKit, the Android app can’t pair to it. It’s an either or situation, not both.

      Hi Simon, thanks for the points. Hopefully this will help others who may have bought or are thinking of buying these.
