BTicino My Home Systems to Gain HomeKit Compatibility Via EasyKon

Many may not be aware of the BTicino MyHome system, but If you’re one of those people to have it, the good news is that it’ll be HomeKit compatible soon, thanks to a new product by Freedompro, called Easykon for MyHome. the BTicino MyHome system is one of the early smart home solutions that goes back since for over 20 years, but with the new Easykon for MyHome offering, which is essentially a “…DIN rail “Bridge” device for private use that connects BTicino MyHome systems with Apple HomeKit, Google and Amazon Alexa.” according to the company’s site.

Amazingly, any BTicino system since the year 2000 will be compatible and able to be upgraded, which is unheard of in terms of tech these days. Freedompro claims that their product is easy to install, with only the use of an ethernet cable connected to the MyHome gateway, which will then find all compatible accessories and set them up in minutes.

The list of accessories includes lighting, switches, window coverings, thermostats and outlets. The company state that their ‘bridge’ is already certified to work with Apple HomeKit, as well as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and will be backed up by their free cloud service, which stores your account and home profile, although this is only necessary for users who only utilise Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

the listed price for the new EasyKon for MyHome bridge will be €499.00 plus VAT, although if you already have the BTicino system in place, it could be a fair investment to get your legacy products working with any newer smart home devices you might have accrued.

  • So this is a hardware extension to make older BTicino gateways (MH201, F454 and F459) handling the MyHome BUS/SCS (wired home automation system) compatible with Apple HomeKit. A kind of “gateway to a gateway”.

But (scoop!) newest BTicino SCS gateway (MYHOMESERVER1) is gaining native HomeKit compatibility soon for free! Actually it’s already developed and the update was about to be deployed by Legrand (parent company of BTicino) during Q1 2020, but has been delayed for now due to the coronavirus crisis. The update will be available through the MyHOME_Up app on iOS.

    • Thanks for the additional info Julien.

    • This is what I hardly wait, so I can finally connect MyHomeServer1 and my 50+ devices (actuators, commands, …) with HomeKit! I am excited everytime I see firmware upgrade in MyHOME_Up app, but so far still waiting 😉
