Meross Garage Door Opener Now Available in the UK

To cap off a week of news relating to Meross, the Chinese smart home company have been good on their word with the promise of releasing the UK version of their popular Smart Garage Door Opener, which is now available to buy on Amazon.co.uk. Priced at UK£38.49, which is considerably lower than the competition. The product works with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Samsung SmartThings. although for those interested in IFTTT, there’s no mention of integration with this particular platform.

As first discovered by Reddit user u/Tetrylene, whilst the non-HomeKit version of this device has been available in the UK for a while now, and at the slightly lower price of UK£34.99, many HomeKit enthusiasts will be gratified to know that they can now enjoy the same benefits of this product that users in the US have had since September, which allows you to open and close your garage door using voice control (via Siri), automations, and via any fully-fledged HomeKit app, plus of course Meross’ own app, which isn’t required for it to be used with HomeKit aside from any occasional firmware updates.

The UK model works with and supports door openers from the likes of Hormann, Chamberlain, Skylink, Liftmaster, Somfy, Sommer, Stanley, BFT, FAAC, Came, Nice and others. To check if your garage door opener is supported, you can visit the Meross compatibility page for confirmation.
