Yeelight Joins The Matter Party With a Modular Cube Light and More…

With the release of Matter Protocol specifications in Oct. and the launch of CSA (known as Connectivity Standards Alliance) Media events, on Nov. 3rd, in Amsterdam, the curtain of the interconnected smart home industry has finally been lifted.

Yeelight, whom we previously revealed has been preparing for Matter compatibility, was part of this new event and is preparing a whole set of products that will either be upgraded for Matter or will be brand new products that come with Matter out of the box.

The two main product lines from the company are either branded as ‘Yeelight’ or ‘Yeelight Pro’. Yeelight is a consumer electronic product line focused on high-quality lights at affordable prices, whilst Yeelight Pro is a premium lighting product line designed for professional lighting and application.

For the Yeelight consumer electronic product line, there’s a lot more coming up to support Matter Protocol. Aside from Yeelight’s Home lighting series, a brand new product portfolio Yeelight Fun is also being prepared for Matter compatibility. With a designated badge, Yeelight Fun products are dedicated to entertainment, gaming and more.

Amongst the Yeelight Fun portfolio, a new Yeelight Cube Smart Lamp is coming to market soon. This is an entertainment-oriented smart lamp that can be built and designed in the same manner as Lego bricks – besides Matter compatibility, this lamp also provides a playful and dynamic look to the user’s desktop.

The new Cube Smart Lamp actually comes in three different variants – one with a simple ‘dot matrix’ type light interface, another with a full-colour light that can display multiple colours at once, and a third model that features a colour spotlight built into it that can be angled to the users’ liking.

For Yeelight Pro it’s even easier. All products under this selection will support Matter with a simple OTA update. The application of Matter Protocol develops a new phase of the smart home industry. With its support, smart devices can be exempted from connection barriers and all be controlled as a whole – no matter if you are a fan of Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, or Samsung SmartThings, etc. Therefore, with the help of Matter, Yeelight will be able to bring a more convenient and personalized smart lighting experience to a wider range of users.
