Govee Release Updated Neon Rope Light 2 With Matter
Govee, the smart home lighting company, has launched its latest product, the Neon Rope Light 2, but this time with Matter (over WiFi) compatibility. The Neon Rope Light 2 aims to offer users easy personalisation through its new AI lighting bot feature, enabling them to transform their spaces with individual creativity.
To make things easier for new or returning users, Govee has upgraded the bend clips and rope material to simplify the shape design and installation process. The improved bend clips can be easily shaped in advance, for a more a hassle-free setup. Moreover, the company claims the softer rope material offers 14% increased flexibility compared to the previous generation, making it easier to achieve the desired shape. Additionally, the rope is 14% lighter, further increasing the chances of an easier installation.
The Neon Rope Light 2 also introduces a new Shape Mapping function in the Govee Home app, allowing users to adjust light shapes effortlessly by capturing them with a camera. Additionally, the light can be controlled in segments, offering various DIY lighting effect options.
Govee has stated that its use of AI technology will enhance smart lighting and smart home products in the future, thus the creation of its own AI Lighting Bot. This feature is designed to bring a more fun and interactivity to the brand’s lighting solutions. The AI feature can analyse user input via text, voice, and image data to generate dynamic lighting effects.
The Neon Rope Light 2 offers over 64 preset lighting effects, allowing users to enjoy a wide range of captivating lighting options. Additionally, the lighting can be expanded or shrunk in all directions, enabling users to create unique designs without any light spots.
The Govee Neon Rope Light 2 is fully integrated with the Govee Home app, as well as via Matter, which covers Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, SmartThings, and Google Home, providing smart control for personalised lighting experiences. Users can conveniently adjust settings, change colours, and create schedules through simple taps or voice commands, although as with other lighting products of this type, you will only get the full experience via Govee’s own app, of course.
The Neon Rope Light 2 is offered in black or white and in two lengths, catering to different use cases, and is now available for US$69.99 for the 3m/10ft length, and US$99.99 for the 5m/16.4ft option. These are currently only available in North America at present, although these products will also be available in Canada, Europe, and the UK soon.
