Switchbot Announces Multitasking Household Robot
At CES 2025 Unveiled, SwitchBot did indeed unveil a brand new product, namely the SwitchBot Multitasking Household Robot K20+ Pro, a versatile (if lengthily named) household robot designed to combine vacuuming, home security, air purification, and smart delivery into a single platform. The K20+ Pro also offers opportunities for customisation, showcasing the potential for robotics in everyday domestic settings. How deeply integrated this device is with third parties, like Matter and Apple Home, is not entirely clear just yet, although it’s highly likely the K20+ Pro robot vacuum will be exposed to Matter via one of the company’s hubs, as is the case with their previous robot vacuums. Still, given robotics are a thing in all corners of technology these days, it’s an interesting development from a smart home company.
At the centre of the K20+ Pro is SwitchBot’s FusionPlatform™, a mobile system equipped with ClawLock™ technology that connects with one of the company’s own mini robot vacuums. This design allows the robot to integrate with various smart devices, enabling it to perform a range of household tasks. These include delivering objects, vacuuming, monitoring pets, purifying the air, enhancing home security, and even mobilising smart tablets. By managing multiple tasks autonomously, the K20+ Pro aims to transform smart living, providing households with a practical combination of convenience and adaptability.

It can also help families by delivering items to seniors or handling other routine household duties.
K20+ Pro Patrol Kit: A Mobile Security Solution
The K20+ Pro Patrol Kit enhances home security with the SwitchBot Pan/Tilt Cam Plus (available in 2K or 3K resolution – not HomeKit compatible). It provides real-time monitoring, advanced motion detection, and instant notifications. Integrated with the SwitchBot app, the system enables users to remotely patrol their homes, offering peace of mind by safeguarding pets, children, and valuables. How it will work with larger homes that might have separate networks in different parts of the home, is a potential issue for some.

The K20+ Pro Air Purifier Kit, featuring the SwitchBot Air Purifier, to maintain home decent air quality. The K20+ Pro Combo includes a lightweight cordless vacuum, providing a comprehensive 3-in-1 vacuuming solution for various cleaning needs. Additionally, the K20+ Pro includes a stand for mobilising smart tablets. With multiple power ports, FusionPlatform™ can integrate with various tools, including speakers, car fridges, and UV sterilisation lamps, enabling users to expand and enhance the robot’s functionality to suit their needs.
The K20+ Pro as a Vacuum
Equipped with D-ToF Lidar Navigation and dual laser detection, the K20+ Pro creates a 1:1 map of the home, with improved obstacle avoidance, allowing for navigation of tight spaces.
The K20+ Pro integrates with the SwitchBot Ecosystem, allowing for automated routines such as air purification upon entering a room. It also connects with third-party smart devices like Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri, making it compatible with various smart home setups. Its remote control functionality makes it ideal for families with children, seniors, or pets, serving as both a caretaker and a versatile assistant.
