Zemismart Adds Aluminium Alloy Zigbee Switches to Range
Only two companies fit the description when it comes to prolific product output; Aqara is one, with ZemiSmart the other. Now the latter has introduced a new range of light switches made from aluminium alloy, with a slick looking dark grey finish to match.
This new range offers single gang switches with one, two, three, or four buttons, with four button, single gang switches generally harder to find. These new switches use Zigbee 3.0, which means they will need one of the company’s Zigbee hubs, like the M1 or M6. Both of these hubs are Matter compatible as Matter Bridges, as well as being Zigbee hubs, although the M1 (video below, review HERE) is also a Matter controller for the Tuya ecosystem as well as containing a Thread Border Router. This of course means that these switches can be exposed to Apple Home (and other platforms) via Matter.
The switches do require a neutral wire, so this restricts them to newer builds or recently rewired homes, but they are designed to fit standard US back boxes. As the switches cover the whole switch area, they don’t require a wall plate.
Each switch variant also offers small LEDs so that the switches can be seen in the dark, especially given that the switches themselves are dark. If you’re worried these will keep you awake in the bedroom, you can actually disable or even reverse the behaviour of the LEDs.
Each button also comes complete with what are described as ‘micro switches’ that allow for activation with only the smallest of presses and the least amount of travel. Due to this, you can press anywhere on the individual switches to turn them on or off.
The full range of these switches are available now via ZemiSmart’s own online store, ranging from US$33 ~ 43 plus shipping, at the time of publishing this article.
