Aqara’s Upgraded G410 Video Doorbell Hits International Stores
Aqara has officially released its latest smart doorbell, the Doorbell Camera Hub G410, offering 2K video resolution (with a caveat…), local and cloud storage options, and support for multiple smart home platforms. The G410 also functions as a Matter Controller, Thread Border Router, and a Zigbee hub/Matter Bridge, as well as including on-device AI features such as facial recognition and presence detection.
The doorbell supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Thread, Zigbee, and Bluetooth. In addition to Aqara devices, it can integrate with over 50 types of third-party Matter-enabled accessories, including lights, sensors, switches, locks, appliances, and electric vehicle chargers.
Video capture is handled by a 2K sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 175° field of view. A built-in mmWave sensor enables more accurate presence detection while reducing false alerts. The G410’s facial recognition is processed locally and can trigger automations without requiring a subscription. Aqara’s ‘Advanced Matter Bridging’ allows facial recognition events to be used in third-party Matter platforms such as Home Assistant.
The G410 is compatible with Apple Home and supports HomeKit Secure Video, including local video analysis and encrypted iCloud storage (requires a paid iCloud plan and Apple home hub). It also streams to Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings-enabled smart displays. For advanced users, RTSP support is available when the device is hardwired, allowing local streaming to platforms like Home Assistant or NVR software such as Frigate and Blue Iris.
Users can choose between local and cloud storage. Cloud footage is encrypted end-to-end, with 1-day free storage for 6 months, or up to 90 days via the Aqara HomeGuardian subscription. iCloud integration is supported where applicable. Local storage is available via microSD (up to 512GB, card not included), located inside the indoor chime unit to prevent tampering. NAS backup is also supported.
POINTS TO BE AWARE OF…
When it comes to 2K (DCI) recording, as HomeKit Secure Video and Apple Home don’t support anything higher than 1080p, you won’t be getting 2K by default. Because of the 4:3 aspect ratio, the resolution in Apple Home is fixed at 1600 x 1200. However, unless you solely run the G410 in Aqara Home, you won’t get 2K – even in the Aqara app, so once it’s added to Apple Home, even the Aqara app will be limited to 1600 x 1200.
It’s also worth noting that the G410 will only work in conjunction with presence sensor in Aqara Home. Whilst it also shows up in Apple Home, the camera will still uses pixel changes in the image to detect motion, not the presence sensor. Additionally, unlike standard sensors of all kinds in Apple Home, you can’t get fish notifications from the sensor itself.
Power options include either six AA batteries (quoted for up to five months’ use under typical conditions) or a wired AC/DC connection, which is required for features such as 24/7 recording and RTSP streaming.
The Aqara Doorbell Camera Hub G410 is available now via Aqara’s official website, authorised resellers, and on Amazon in supported regions including the US, UK, CA, DE , FR, IT, ES, and others. Further details are available on the Aqara website. For a limited time, you can use the following codes for a discount on the regular price; EU/UK – AQARA410. North America – AQARAG41

Will it work with a traditional existing DC doorbell chime? As a comparison, Skybell Trim, Netatmo and some others do.
It might work to the power the doorbell from the transformer, but I don’t believe it can trigger the chime.
