Upcoming Matter over Thread Thermostat Announced

You may not have heard of the company Siterwell, but they will be presenting an updated version of their Smart Thermostat GS368, namely the GS368M, at the CEDIA Expo 2025, which takes place from 4~6th September in Denver, Colorado.

The new Smart Thermostat (GS368M) uses Matter over Thread to provide a smart thermostat experience at an entry-level price. By supporting the latest smart home standard, it will hopefully offer better interoperability and connectivity, something that both Matter and Thread have long promised.

Users can set daily temperature schedules for up to seven days and adjust remotely via smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Support for Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant also allows hands-free voice control.

The thermostat includes HVAC monitoring to track performance, alert users to maintenance needs, and adjust heating or cooling in line with weather conditions. High-quality sensors allow precise adjustments in 0.5, 1, 1.5, or 2°F steps.

It offers a large full-touch LCD screen, and has a slim design to suit most interiors. A proximity sensor lights up the display when someone approaches, and brightness adjusts automatically to ambient light. The interactive interface uses soft tones, simple prompts, and visual icons for ease of use. Installation is straightforward, supported by app-based guidance and a built-in level so you don’t fit it askew.

MORE DEVICES

Alongside the thermostat, Siterwell will also display several other Matter-compatible devices:

  • The Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (GS886M) uses dual-spectrum photoelectric sensing and complies with UL217 9th edition standards. It detects both smoke and CO, issues clear voice alerts, and is simple to install.
  • The Smart Motion Sensor (GS307M), also Matter over Thread-enabled, provides accurate movement detection with an advanced PIR sensor and adjustable angles. It is designed for security and automation, with easy installation and long-lasting performance.
  • The Door-Window Detector (GS325M) offers reliable performance through professional reed switches and a low-power design, ensuring long battery life. It integrates easily with modern smart homes for both security and automation purposes.

When these devices will show up on places like Amazon and other online retailers is not clear at this time. However the company already have a presence on Amazon.com with their range of non-smart smoke and CO detectors, so there’s good reasons to assume these smart devices will follow suit and become available too.

Looks cute. Here’s hoping someone will start selling a Matter over Thread baseboard heater thermostat before winter.
