Warmup Release First Matter Underfloor Heating Thermostat
In what is claimed to be a world first, the 7iE Smart Matter Wi-Fi Thermostat is currently the only Matter-enabled underfloor heating Thermostat available. This, says Warmup, is their most advanced underfloor heating controller to date. The 7iE uses Matter over WiFi to ensure integration with all major smart home platforms, including Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. SmartThings is not mentioned for whatever reason.
The 7iE is designed for multi-zone underfloor heating setups, from a single bathroom with an electric floor heater to an entire property using water-based heating as its main system. It also employs Warmup’s SmartGeo technology, which automatically sets the most efficient temperature schedules for a home, helping to reduce energy use by up to 25 percent and cutting utility costs.
The 7iE Smart Matter Wi-Fi Thermostat also works with Smartcare, Warmup’s new customer support platform. By analysing real-time data, Smartcare delivers AI-powered proactive assistance throughout the lifetime of an underfloor heating system. It aims to provide tailored recommendations to enhance efficiency and offers round-the-clock phone support, with most issues resolved remotely. Of course some of these features are part of a subscription package, so using your preferred Matter platform might be the more cost effective route if you prefer the no-frills approach.
The unit itself comes in two colour options – with an Onyx Black or Bright Porcelain, with a dark or light chrome surround for the respective finishes. There’s a full colour touch screen that features controls for the heating levels, day and date, timers, target temperature, and even local weather. It also contains humidity and temperature sensors.
If you haven’t heard of Warmup, you’re not alone, but it appears the company itself, based in the UK, has been around for 30 years. besides the UK, its non-smart products are also sold in the US and Canada. You can find out more via the company’s website.

Definitely not the first. I’m using Merross matter thermostat since a year.
