Zemismart’s Matter over Thread Curtain System offers a Telescopic Track

Zemismart has announced its latest smart curtain motor model, the MT82-P35, an electric curtain/track system that supports Matter over Thread. This, of course, means it’s compatible with major smart home ecosystems including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and even Home Assistant.

This isn’t the first motor and track system with Matter over Thread from ZemiSmart, with a previous iteration reviewed by ourselves (video HERE). The difference with this model is that the track is telescopic to adjust the length of the track, as opposed to the previous model using sections of track in different lengths that then lock together.

The motor does not contain a battery for driving the motor, and so requires permanent power, but due to this the motor can act as a Thread Router, which helps to extend your Thread Network.

Also note that whilst the motor sits at one end of the track, it will pull both curtains for opening and closing.

KEY FEATURES

Matter & Thread support: The motor uses Matter over Thread, so it’ll integrate into Thread mesh networks and connect to your platform of choice as long as you also have a Matter Controller.
Wide voltage & plug options: The unit supports 110V ~ 240V, and offers different regional plug types (US, UK, EU, AU) making it suitable for global installations.
RF remote control: In addition to smart home control, it comes with an RF remote that can be handheld or wall-mounted.
External antenna: For stronger signal reception the motor contains an external antenna.
Ready-made length range: The track offers lengths of 1.8m to 3m for the track.
Offline functionality: The curtain motor can still function even if your smart home goes offline, using the ‘Power Failure Pull Function’.

This last feature allows you to briefly tug one of the curtains, with then triggers the motor to begin closing (or opening) the curtains, a feature that also allows more ‘traditional’ users in your home to operate them without the need to use an app or even voice control.

For anyone deeply engaged in the Apple Home the MT82-P35 from Zemismart is a very intriguing proposition. It hits a lot of the right boxes: Thread + Matter, motorised curtain convenience, and now the new telescopic track that further simplifies adjusting the length to suit your needs.
