Aqara Launches Thread/Zigbee Radiator Thermostat W600
Aqara today has announced – alongside the brand new Hub M200 – the availability of its new Radiator Thermostat W600, first shown at IFA 2025. It offers temperature control, automated climate regulation, and interoperability across Matter ecosystems via Thread and Zigbee. The W600 updates traditional radiators with intelligent heating control that aims to improve comfort and reduce energy use.
The Radiator Thermostat W600 is designed to limit unnecessary heating by reducing output in unoccupied rooms. Instead of heating the whole home, users can schedule temperature changes for individual rooms with up to seven time periods per day. These thermostatic radiator valves can also adjust the temperature according to environmental and behavioural triggers such as occupancy and geofencing. For example, they can preheat the living room as the user arrives home or pause heating when a room is empty late at night. When paired with contact sensors, the radiators can also pause heating if a window is left open.
The W600 supports precise control with temperature adjustment in steps of 0.5ºC. Users can set room-by-room temperatures and group radiators for simultaneous control. Temperature changes can be made through mobile apps, virtual assistants such as Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri, or Aqara devices like the Climate Sensor W100 (review HERE, video HERE) and Panel Hub S1 Plus (this connection may not be available at launch, however). For improved accuracy, the thermostat can be paired with an external Aqara temperature sensor, as the built-in sensor may be affected by its position close to the radiator. The W600 also operates below 30dB to minimise noise at night.
With both Thread and Zigbee connectivity, the Radiator Thermostat W600 is suitable for a range of homes. In Thread mode it works with Matter and integrates with platforms such as Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, Home Assistant, Homey, and SmartThings, without the need for a proprietary hub. In Zigbee mode it pairs with an Aqara Zigbee hub and adds features within the Aqara Home app such as smart schedules, multi-device grouping, remote control via a paired Aqara device, and heating control based on an external Aqara temperature sensor.
The W600 offers broader compatibility with European radiator valves than the previous model, supporting M301.5 mm thread connections and including adapters for RA, RAV, RAVL, Caleffi, Giacomini, and M281.5 mm valves. Its flippable LED display provides clear visibility in horizontal or vertical installations. The device runs on two AA batteries and can achieve up to two years of battery life, which is twice that of its predecessor.
The Radiator Thermostat W600 is available now through Aqara’s website, authorised retailers, and major online outlets including Amazon in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain amongst others. Use the code AQARAW600 for a limited time 15% discount.
