Aqara Releases Highly Anticipated UK Wall outlet H2

In a rare instance of the UK getting a product all of its own, Aqara has released the Aqara Wall Outlet H2 UK, a dual in-wall outlet with two different options.

The Aqara Wall Outlet H2 UK supports both Thread and Zigbee protocols, allowing users to choose the most suitable configuration for their setup. When operating in Thread mode, no Aqara hub is required to connect to third-party Matter ecosystems. Switching to Zigbee mode enables additional Aqara-specific features and ensures compatibility with existing Aqara Zigbee hubs, while still retaining Matter support. This flexible approach allows users to prioritise either broad platform compatibility or deeper integration with Aqara’s advanced functionality.

The differentiator for the two models is basically down to the included USB-C ports, with one model offering a single USB-C port capable of 20w output, and the other (WP-P09D) with dual USB-C ports offering an output of 30w when one port is used, or 15w per port if both are in use.

Each of the two AC outlets can be controlled independently, making it possible to manage different devices from a single unit. The outlet can be operated using physical buttons in a manner similar to a traditional wall switch, or through the Aqara app. A custom press mode also allows different button press actions to be assigned, enabling users to both control power and trigger automations or scenes from the same outlet.

Integrated power monitoring tracks the electricity usage of connected devices in real time. Consumption data can be viewed as daily, weekly, or monthly summaries within the Aqara Home app. This information can be used to create automations based on power thresholds, allowing devices to be adjusted or switched off automatically to help reduce unnecessary energy use.

An optional child lock disables the physical buttons on the outlet to prevent accidental operation by children or pets. When enabled, control via the app, voice assistants, and automations remains fully functional, ensuring continued access while reducing the risk of unintended use.

The outlet also includes overload and heat protection, automatically cutting power if unsafe conditions are detected. Adjustable current limits provide an additional layer of protection, helping to safeguard connected devices and improve overall electrical safety in the home.

Currently, only the single USB-C port model is available on Amazon.co.uk, for £67.99, although the dual USB-C model is available from Aqarashop.co.uk for £69.98

    • Sorry, can’t do that. The product is already available on Amazon.co.uk and the UK Aqara store, so its existence and availability is public knowledge.
