ULTRALOQ Adds Palm Vein and Face Recognition to Lineup

At CES 2026, Xthings has introduced three new smart locks under its ULTRALOQ brand: Bolt Sense, Latch 7 Pro, and Bolt Mission UWB with the latter already announced at last year’s CES. These new products focus on touch-free and proximity-based access, alongside broader smart home platform support.

The ULTRALOQ Bolt Sense uses a dual biometric system combining palm vein recognition with 3D facial recognition. Palm vein authentication relies on infrared light to read vein patterns beneath the skin, allowing identification even when hands are wet, dirty, or partially obstructed. The lock also includes active approach sensing, which begins authentication automatically as the user approaches, rather than requiring manual interaction with a keypad or sensor.

Xthings expects the Bolt Sense to launch in the second quarter of 2026.

The ULTRALOQ Latch 7 Pro is positioned as a standards-focused model designed for compatibility across multiple ecosystems. It supports Matter over Thread, enabling local control and integration with Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa, amongst others.

In addition, the lock includes Z-Wave 800 Series support, offering extended range suitable for larger properties or installations where Wi-Fi coverage is limited, such as detached garages or gates.

Intriguingly, Xthings also plans future support for Aliro, which is intended to enable cross-platform digital keys that work across different lock brands and smartphones.

The Latch 7 Pro is expected to ship in early 2026.

The ULTRALOQ Bolt Mission UWB, first previewed last year, is seemingly now available to preorder, at a price of US$299. It uses Ultra-Wideband technology to determine a user’s precise position relative to the door, reducing false unlocks that can occur with Bluetooth-based proximity systems. UWB allows the lock to distinguish whether a user is inside or outside the property and unlocks only when the approach is intentional.
