New Govee Outdoor Pathway Lights Coming Soon
Govee, fresh from their stint at CES, has added the Outdoor Cylinder Pathway Lights to the ‘Coming Soon’ section of its US website, providing an early indication of a new outdoor smart lighting product that has yet to be formally launched.
The new lights appear alongside other unreleased outdoor products, including the Outdoor Chromatic String Lights and the Outdoor Solar String Lights.
The sole Product image shows a cylindrical light unit mounted on a black vertical stem with a ground spike, intended for installation along paths, driveways, or garden borders. Compared with Govee’s existing Outdoor Pathway Lights 2, the light housing appears noticeably larger, which may indicate a higher light output. However, Govee has not stated how many individual lights will be included in a single kit.
Govee says the Outdoor Cylinder Pathway Lights will support both white and coloured illumination, with access to the now standard 16 million colours. The lights are expected to be controlled through the Govee Home app, where users will be able to choose from more than 60 preset lighting scenes and create custom effects. Matter has not been mentioned at this stage, but given that all of their lights in the last few months are Matter compatible, it’s expected that these will almost certainly be compatible with the new smart home standard.
The company has confirmed a maximum brightness of up to 450 lumens per light, however, but beyond that there is little to go on at present. Availability and pricing remain unannounced. Customers in the US can currently sign up for email notifications via Govee’s website to receive updates when more information becomes available.
The Govee Outdoor Chromatic String Lights might remind some of our older readers of the LiFX Polychrome bulbs they sold that had multiple LEDs in them to create moving colours. These Govee take on this don’t seem as dense when it comes to LEDs, but allude to the possibility of creating a similar set of effects, if the bullet points are to be believed;
