Tapo Launches RV50 Pro Omni with Matter

Tapo has expanded its smart home cleaning range with the Tapo RV50 Pro Omni, a Matter compatible robot vacuum and mop combo positioned at the top end of the company’s current lineup. The new model focuses on high suction performance and a heavily automated docking system designed to reduce day-to-day user involvement.

The RV50 Pro Omni is rated at 15,000 Pa of suction, which whilst not at the top of the tree in terms of power, still places it among the more powerful robot vacuums currently available. Tapo pairs this with a tangle-free cutting brush, an anti-tangle side brush, and a hair-resistant caster wheel, all intended to reduce manual cleaning, particularly in homes with pets.

Mopping is handled by Tapo’s DeepEdge Adaptive Mopping system, which like many other robots now offers a movable mop arm that extends into corners and along skirting boards. Two rotating mop pads spin at up to 180rpm, applying up to 8N of downward pressure. A 95ml onboard water tank regulates moisture levels to help avoid streaking on hard floors.

A key feature of the RV50 Pro Omni is its all-in-one docking station, which handles most routine maintenance tasks. Dust is automatically emptied into a 3L disposable bag, rated for up to 60 days of use, depending on household conditions.

After mopping, the dock washes the pads using hot water up to 60°C/140ºF, then dries them with warm air up to 50°C/122ºF. The system also includes automatic detergent dispensing and a deodorising function, reducing the need for manual intervention between cleaning cycles.

Navigation relies on a dual-laser obstacle-avoidance system combined with multiple onboard sensors to generate detailed maps and detect objects in real time, intended to reduce collisions and improve route planning in cluttered spaces.

Through the Tapo app, users can schedule cleaning, define no-go zones, label rooms, and switch between vacuum-only, mop-only, or combined cleaning modes. Carpet detection and ultrasonic sensors allow the robot to lift or avoid wet mopping on carpeted areas. Additional features include multi-floor mapping, voice notifications, and a “Perfect Fit” mode that automatically adjusts suction, water flow, and cleaning paths based on room layout.

Within Tapo’s robot vacuum portfolio, the RV50 Pro Omni sits above models such as the RV30 Max and RV20 Max Plus. Its higher suction rating, automated hot-water mop maintenance, and more advanced docking system clearly place it in the brand’s premium tier.

The Tapo RV50 Pro Omni is already available in several European markets, with it being listed on Amazon.co.uk for £499.99, reflecting a 33% launch discount from the £749.99 recommended retail price. On Amazon.de, the robot is available for €499,90. Currently there’s no information on a North American release. This makes the RV50 Pro Omni one of the cheapest Matter compatible robot vacuums on the market, alongside Switchbot’s recently released K11+ and S20 models.

    • So far I can’t find any evidence as to whether it’s Matter 1.4 or not, but if I find any definitive information I’ll let you know.
