Linkind’s BR30 Matter Bulbs Bring Multi-Zone Colour and a Telescopic Fit
As spotted by Christopher Close at Matter Alpha, Linkind has introduced the AuraScape BR30, a Matter-certified smart bulb designed for recessed ceiling fittings, combining multi-zone colour output with an adjustable, telescopic body for both 5” and 6″ cans.
The bulb supports up to four independent colour zones, allowing multiple colours to be displayed simultaneously within a single lamp. Using the AiDot app, each zone can be individually controlled, enabling effects such as gradients or segmented colour patterns across the face of the light. In addition to multi-colour operation, the bulb offers 16 million colours and tuneable white lighting from 1800K to 6500K, covering warm ambient scenes through to daylight illumination.
Physically, the AuraScape BR30 features a retractable design that extends from approximately 5” to 6.9″ in length. This allows it to sit flush, recessed, or slightly extended, depending on ceiling depth and aesthetic preference. The adjustable body is intended to simplify installation in both 5” and 6.9″ recessed housings, while also allowing the light output to be positioned for either focused downlighting or softer ambient effects.
The bulb is Matter certified and can be paired directly with Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, or Google Home, provided a compatible Matter controller or hub is present. This is a Matter over WiFi device, so a Thread Border Router isn’t required in this instance. Once added, basic functions such as on and off, brightness, colour, and colour temperature can be controlled via the respective smart home platforms and by voice. Advanced features, including individual zone control and music-sync lighting effects, remain exclusive to the AiDot app.
Music synchronisation is handled via the smartphone’s microphone, allowing the app to analyse ambient sound and animate the lighting in time with music. Preset modes such as Party, Dynamic, Calm, and Auto Rhythm are available, alongside a DIY scene editor for creating custom lighting effects.
Over a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection, users can also group multiple bulbs, create schedules and timers, and monitor power consumption through the AiDot app. The manufacturer notes that the bulbs should not be used on dimmer circuits, as this may cause flickering, and that all smart functions require a 2.4GHz network rather than 5GHz Wi-Fi.
The Linkind AuraScape BR30 is available from Amazon.com priced at just US$15.99.
