Airversa Finally Releases its First Smart Button With Thread
Airversa has now officially released its Thread-enabled QliQ Smart Button, following a launch that was delayed beyond its original schedule. The device had previously been announced for release in late 2025, but availability slipped before finally reaching the market.
The QliQ Smart Button operates using HomeKit over Thread. As such, it currently does not currently support Matter, meaning it is intended solely for users invested in Apple’s smart home ecosystem. Setup and configuration can be handled entirely within Apple Home, rather than through Airversa’s companion Sleekpoint app, although there are features that can be customised via the latter.
The device features three physical buttons, each of which supports single, double, and long-press actions, allowing up to nine separate automations or scenes to be triggered. When pressed, the button provides feedback via a brief green LED flash, an audible beep, and haptic vibration. These feedback options can be adjusted, giving users some control over how discreet the device is in day-to-day use.
Power is supplied by an internal rechargeable battery, which is charged via a USB-C port on the underside of the unit. This removes the need for disposable batteries, although it does mean the device will need periodic charging. In the box, Airversa includes a short USB-C to USB-A charging cable, along with a magnetic mounting plate with adhesive backing. The plate allows the QliQ to be wall-mounted or have the button directly attach to metal surfaces such as a fridge door. Although it is sized to North American wall plate standards, it does not include fittings for a switch box.
Airversa is part of Sleekpoint Innovations, which also manufactures the Thorbolt series of smart locks. With the QliQ Smart Button now available, Airversa adds another Thread-based accessory to the Apple Home ecosystem, albeit later than originally planned. Priced at US$29.99, and seemingly only available on Amazon.com at present, how competitive it will be against existing smart buttons already on the market remains to be seen. How the QliQ and other smart buttons will fare against Ikea now they’ve launched their own Bilresa smart button at a fraction of the price, is also of concern.
The Airversa QliQ is available now as either a single or double pack, priced at US$29.99 and US$54.99, respectively.
