Dreame Enters Smart Lighting With Matter P11 LED Light Strip
Chinese smart home accessory manufacturers Dreame – best known for robot vacuums and floor care appliances – has expanded into ambient lighting with its new P11 LED light strip, bringing full smart home ecosystem support and RGBICWW colour control to the category.
The Dreame Light Strip P11 is a multi-functional LED light strip designed for indoor lighting scenes and décor. The product features RGBICWW multi-zone control, allowing independent control of individual LED segments with 24-bit colour processing and a brightness output rated up to 1800 lumens. Warm and cool white light is adjustable across a range from 2700 ~ 6500K, offering anything from ambient colour tones to bright daylight-like illumination.
The P11 supports over 70 dynamic lighting scenes and customisable effects, including preset modes for festive moods, relaxation, and ambient visuals. A dedicated music synchronisation mode provides four rhythm-based patterns that adjust lighting in time with audio playback. The strip’s total length is 5m / 16.4ft, offering 360lm and 108 LEDs per metre.
Notably for Apple Home users, the P11 has been Matter certified so it will work in the Apple Home app directly – to an extent. Certification details list the product as supporting Matter 1.3 and offering Matter over Wi-Fi which is sort of expected. This means the light strip will be controllable via Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, although in Apple Home at least, you’ll only be able to control single colours across the length of the strip, not the multiple zones the strip is capable of.
Dreame positions the P11 as a flexible lighting solution that can complement traditional room lighting or provide accent illumination for gaming setups, media areas, bedrooms, or living spaces. In addition to standard app control – presumably via Dreame’s own platform – Matter integration aims to simplify voice and automation control from third-party smart home hubs.
According to product listings and early European press previews, the P11 is offered at a mid-range price point relative to competitors like Philips Hue, Wiz, and Govee strips. Early comparisons suggest the strip delivers slightly higher brightness per metre than some rival models, though overall pricing places it against well-established lighting brands rather than budget alternatives.
Matter support and flexible colour/white control could make the P11 a good choice for users rolling out smart lighting that must work seamlessly with Apple Home or even multi-platform smart home setups, although to get the best out of it, the Dreame app is going to be required. Additionally, whilst Matter over WiFi is a valid option, many more savvy users are much keener on devices that offer Matter over Thread, or even Zigbee, so this could have limited appeal in an already well populated light strip market.
You can buy the P11 Light Strip directly from Dreame’s own online store for the discounted price of €69.00 (normal price €99.00)
