Aqara Launches Camera Hub G350 in China

As first reported by Wardzhou for MatterAlpha, Aqara has launched its Camera Hub G350, a new flagship indoor pan-tilt camera, in China ahead of any international release.

The G350 combines a dual-lens imaging system, expanded local AI processing, and integrated Zigbee and Thread Border Router functionality, positioning it as one of Aqara’s most advanced indoor cameras to date. It will also be compatible with Matter 1.5 once Apple Home and others start to support it, with Matter 1.5 specifically supporting cameras and related details for the first time.

Whilst the G350 looks very similar to the original G3, the area where the lens are is clearly different due to the dual cameras found in the G350. Additionally, whilst the G3 has an IR blaster built in, the G350 has removed that functionality.

DUAL-LENS 4K SYSTEM

The G350 features two separate cameras:

  • An 8MP 4K ultra-wide lens with a 133° field of view
  • A 4MP 2.5K telephoto lens with an 8mm focal length

Both lenses use an f/1.6 aperture. Aqara states the setup enables up to 9× hybrid zoom, allowing users to switch between full-room monitoring and detailed close-ups. The camera sits on a motorised 360° pan platform, designed to reduce blind spots indoors.

SCENE MAPPING AND TRACKING

A new panoramic scene-mapping feature generates a 360° layout of the room inside the Aqara app. Users can tap a location within the scene to direct the camera to that viewpoint instantly. The interface supports subject tracking and region-based zoom selection, taking advantage of the dual-lens hardware.

LOCAL AI AND AUTOMATION

Aqara describes the G350 as supporting a wide range of local visual and audio recognition features, including person, pet, gesture, and sound detection. Processing is handled on-device. The camera also supports identity-based automations, allowing recognised individuals to trigger predefined scenes within the Aqara ecosystem. Gesture recognition is included for automation control, with a variety of gestures readily identifiable.

In addition to camera functionality, the G350 operates as a Zigbee hub and Thread Border Router, alongside dual-band Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. This effectively combines camera and smart home hub roles into a single device.

The G350 supports:

  • NAS storage
  • RTSP streaming up to 2160p
  • Cloud storage

The G350 includes native support for HomeKit Secure Video, with footage viewable across Apple devices and encrypted via iCloud. As with other HSV cameras, recording resolution within Apple Home may be limited by Apple’s platform specifications, regardless of the camera’s 4K hardware capability.

The Camera Hub G350 has currently launched in China. Aqara has not yet confirmed international availability, pricing outside China, or a global release timeline.
