Airversa unveils New HomeKit over Thread humidifier w/ plans for Matter

Airversa has announced a new 3.2L smart humidifier, its second smart humidifier designed for Apple Home users. Like its predecessor – also called the Humelle – it connects directly to Apple Home using HomeKit over Thread, offering fast, reliable local communication without relying on Wi-Fi for device control.

While the humidifier currently supports Apple Home exclusively, Airversa has stated that Matter compatibility will be added via a future firmware update, allowing it to integrate with a wider range of smart home platforms once the update becomes available.

As always, we recommend caution with promises of future feature updates, although as this is HomeKit over Thread, it’s less of a concern for Apple Home users.

HOMEKIT OVER THREAD TODAY, MATTER TOMORROW

The Humelle communicates using Thread, providing responsive performance while reducing congestion on your Wi-Fi network. Once paired with Apple Home, users can incorporate the humidifier into scenes and automations alongside other HomeKit accessories. Using Auto Mode, you can set a target humidity level, with the humidifier automatically adjusting its output based on readings from its onboard environmental sensors. Following the planned firmware update, the Humelle will also support Matter, enabling compatibility with additional ecosystems that support the standard.

PRECISION TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY SENSING

Airversa says the Humelle incorporates Swiss-engineered combination temperature and humidity sensors, delivering real-time environmental monitoring for more accurate humidity control. The built-in sensors allow the humidifier to respond automatically as room conditions change, helping maintain a consistent indoor environment for family members, pets, and indoor plants.

LARGE CAPACITY FOR LONGER RUN TIMES

The Humelle features a 3.2L top-fill water tank capable of providing up to 60 hours of continuous operation between refills, depending on the selected mist level. Airversa also claims the humidifier produces a vertical mist plume reaching up to 40″, helping distribute moisture throughout larger rooms such as living rooms, bedrooms, nurseries, and home offices.

QUIET OPERATION AND AMBIENT LIGHTING

A dedicated Sleep Mode reduces operating noise to around 28dB, making the Humelle suitable for overnight use. An integrated multicolour LED light can be customised through the Sleekpoint app, allowing users to select colours for bedtime, relaxation, meditation, or other ambient lighting preferences. The light should also be exposed to Apple Home.

SIMPLE MAINTENANCE WITH AROMATHERAPY

The top-fill design simplifies both refilling and cleaning, while the Sleekpoint app can provide maintenance reminders to help keep the humidifier operating efficiently. The Humelle also includes an aromatherapy function, allowing users to add compatible essential oils to combine cool mist humidification with fragrance diffusion. With the new version of the Humelle, Airversa continues to expand its range of Thread-enabled Apple Home accessories. While this is the company’s second HomeKit over Thread humidifier, the planned Matter update should significantly broaden its appeal by opening support to other smart home ecosystems.

For Apple Home users, however, the Humelle already offers the key benefits of Thread, including responsive local control, dependable connectivity, onboard environmental sensing, and straightforward humidity automation. If the promised Matter update arrives as planned, it should become an even more versatile addition to the growing range of cross-platform smart home devices.
