Govee Announces Matter-Compatible Sky Ceiling Light at IFA 2026
Govee has announced a new range of lighting products at IFA 2026, led by the Matter-compatible Sky Ceiling Light. The company also introduced two COB light strips and a new generation of permanent outdoor lights, with all four products incorporating its AI lighting features.
SKY CEILING LIGHT WITH MATTER
The Sky Ceiling Light delivers up to 7,000 lumens of white light, with an adjustable colour temperature range of 1,000-10,000K and a CRI (colour rendering index) of 95.
Govee’s NaturalTone algorithm is designed to produce natural-looking white light across that range, while its Vitality Spectrum technology incorporates a dedicated 478nm sky-blue wavelength. The company says this is intended to support alertness when natural daylight is limited.
The light also carries TÜV Rheinland certification for low-glare performance, an RG0 blue light hazard rating, and a flicker-free design, according to Govee.
AI Lighting Bot 2.0 allows users to request lighting suited to their mood or activity. Despite Govee describing the product as “mood-responsive”, the announcement does not identify any system that independently detects a user’s emotional state. Instead, the feature is presented as generating lighting based on users’ expressed preferences and needs.
Govee’s DaySync feature adjusts lighting according to the time and weather. Matter support provides a route into Apple Home and other compatible platforms, although the announcement does not specify which of Govee’s additional features are accessible outside its own system.
COB STRIP LIGHT 2 PRO
The COB Strip Light 2 Pro uses chip-on-board lighting to provide a continuous appearance with fewer visible points of light. Govee specifies 1,344 LEDs and 16 independently controlled ICs per metre, combined with a triple-layer groove design intended to produce smooth illumination in both single-colour and dynamic multicolour modes.
The strip uses RGBWWIC technology and Govee’s LuminBlend+ colour engine, with a white colour temperature range of 1,000-10,000K and a colour rendering index of 92.
AI Lighting Bot 2.0 allows users to generate lighting scenes through voice or text prompts, covering activities such as gaming, watching films, reading, or entertaining.
A lower-priced COB Strip Light 2 will also be available. Govee describes this as offering the same general combination of continuous-looking illumination and AI-generated lighting, but the announcement does not provide its detailed specifications.
PERMANENT OUTDOOR LIGHTS 2 PRO
The Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro introduces a dual-layer design, with two independently controlled IC chips in each light head. This allows the upper and lower lighting zones to display different colours and effects simultaneously.
The system uses Govee’s LuminBlend+ colour management technology and AI Lighting Bot 2.0 to create outdoor lighting scenes from user requests.
Although intended for permanent outdoor installation, the announcement does not provide weather-resistance ratings or operating temperature limits.
EXPANDED AI LIGHTING FEATURES
Across its lighting platform, Govee is expanding the use of text, voice, and image inputs to generate personalised scenes. Support for follow-up requests allows users to refine an effect through a conversation rather than starting again with each adjustment.
The company also plans to introduce AI-powered group control for coordinating multiple lighting products. This is described as a future addition, with no launch date provided.
