Dreame Unveils Matter-Compatible Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X
Dreame unveiled the Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete at IFA 2026, its latest flagship robot vacuum and mop, featuring 180°C steam cleaning, an extendable roller mop, 40,000Pa suction, and upgraded obstacle avoidance.
While Dreame’s IFA announcement makes no mention of Matter, the Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete is listed as Matter compatible by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), making the new model of particular interest to Apple Home users.
MATTER SUPPORT
Matter support allows compatible robot vacuums to be added to ecosystems including Apple Home, alongside other Matter-compatible smart home platforms. Apple added support for Matter robot vacuums to Apple Home with iOS 18.4, allowing compatible models to appear directly within the Home app. Supported controls can include starting and stopping cleaning, selecting cleaning modes, and monitoring the vacuum’s current state, although the precise controls available can vary between models.
As is generally the case with Matter-enabled robot vacuums, more advanced functionality is likely to remain within the manufacturer’s own app. Dreame doesn’t mention Matter compatibility in its IFA announcement for the Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete, but the model is listed as Matter compatible on the CSA’s official certified product database.
180°C STEAM CLEANING
One of the headline additions to the Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete is Dreame’s use of steam cleaning. The robot generates steam internally at temperatures of up to 180°C, which is released through four outlets to loosen dried-on stains. This is followed by hot water mopping to remove the loosened dirt.
The system works alongside Dreame’s AquaRoll technology, which continually supplies fresh water to the roller during cleaning. The roller itself operates at 300rpm and applies 18N of downward pressure. Dreame claims the combination can achieve a 99.999% bacteria removal rate.
EXTENDABLE ROLLER MOP
The Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete also introduces an upgraded version of Dreame’s MopExtend technology. The roller mop can extend outwards by as much as 8cm, twice the extension offered by the Aqua10 Ultra Roller Complete. This allows the roller to reach further into corners and beneath furniture, as well as around chair legs, cabinets, and other areas that can be difficult for a circular robot vacuum to access.
When the robot encounters carpet, an AutoSeal Guard closes the roller mop cover to prevent moisture reaching the carpet. Dreame’s TripleUp system can also independently lift the side brush by 10mm, main brush by 5mm, and mop by 15mm, depending on the surface and cleaning task. Once cleaning is complete, the robot returns to its base, where the roller mop can be washed using water heated to 100°C.
40,000PA SUCTION
Vacuuming is handled by Dreame’s HyperStream Detangling DuoBrush 2.0 system, which combines a bristled brush for collecting debris from gaps and crevices with a soft TPU rubber brush designed for larger particles and carpets. Maximum suction is rated at 40,000Pa.
Dreame has also upgraded the robot’s obstacle clearance system. The Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete can cross single obstacles measuring up to 5cm high and two-stage obstacles of up to 10cm using the company’s ProLeap technology.
AI-BASED NAVIGATION
Navigation combines Dreame’s AstroVision technology with VersaLift navigation and OmniSight System 4.0. According to Dreame, the system can recognise more than 320 types of objects and detect obstacles as small as 10mm, with a claimed response time of 0.1 seconds.
The latest generation also introduces adaptive learning. The robot can respond to moving objects while cleaning and recalculate its route accordingly, which should help reduce interruptions in homes with pets and other frequently moving obstacles.
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete is expected to go on sale in the UK soon, priced at £1,299. Dreame has yet to provide a specific release date. Although Matter support is notably absent from Dreame’s IFA announcement, its inclusion in the CSA’s certified product database confirms that the Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete is intended to work with Matter ecosystems. For Apple Home users looking for a high-end robot vacuum with native smart home integration, that makes Dreame’s latest flagship considerably more relevant than the company’s press release might initially suggest.
