Eufy Unveils Edge 5.0 Security Range, Limited Apple Home Support
Anker Innovations has unveiled its new eufy Edge 5.0 Yard Protection System, a five-product home security lineup designed to provide coverage from the perimeter of a property through to the front door and inside the home.
Presales of the new range are available via the company’s website.
The new range consists of the TrackLight Cam S1, Video Doorbell S4, SoloCam E50, eufyCam E52, and Window Camera E10, with the devices connected through eufy’s HomeBase S380. According to Anker, the system has been designed to move home security beyond simple recording, with greater emphasis on early detection, subject tracking, and active deterrence.
For Apple Home users, however, compatibility appears to be limited. Of the five products announced, only the TrackLight Cam S1 and Video Doorbell S4 are specifically described as being compatible with Apple Home, while the press release makes no mention of Apple Home support for the remaining three devices. There is also no mention of Matter anywhere in the announcement.
TRACKLIGHT CAM S1
The eufy TrackLight Cam S1 is the centrepiece of the new range and is described by the company as the world’s first outdoor security track light camera with an auto-tracking light. The camera uses a dual-radar detection system offering 180º coverage, combined with 355º horizontal and 90º vertical pan-and-tilt movement. Once suspicious activity is detected, the camera can track a moving subject using an adjustable beam, while also activating a 105dB siren or red and blue warning lights. Video is recorded at up to 4K resolution, with up to 10x zoom, while eufy claims people can be detected from distances of up to 12 metres.
The S1 can also recognise family members using a combination of radar and Bluetooth detection, allowing the camera to activate softer welcome lighting when recognised users approach. The integrated TrackLight provides an adaptive 10° to 30° beam with brightness of up to 500 lumens, while the wider floodlight is designed to improve colour night vision. The unit is also rated IP65 for outdoor use.
Significantly for Apple users, Anker states that the TrackLight Cam S1 is compatible with Apple Home, as well as Google Home. However, the press release does not explain the extent of that compatibility, including whether the camera support HomeKit Secure Video, and which functions are exposed within the Apple Home app.
VIDEO DOORBELL S4
The refreshed Video Doorbell S4 features a 180º panoramic field of view intended to capture both the doorway and the area leading up to it. It uses a 9-megapixel sensor with 3K resolution, alongside eufy’s OmniTrack AI human detection. This allows the doorbell to distinguish people from background movement and automatically adjust its zoom as a visitor approaches. Despite being positioned as one of the core products within the Edge 5.0 system, and whilst the press release makes no mention of Apple Home, HomeKit, or Matter support for the Video Doorbell S4, it does indeed support Apple Home via the HomeBase S380.
SOLO CAM E50
Designed to cover the outer boundary of a property, the SoloCam E50 combines two lenses within a single pan-and-tilt camera. One lens provides a wide-angle overview, while the second offers up to 12x hybrid zoom for tracking movement at greater distances. The camera uses both radar and passive infrared detection in an attempt to reduce false alerts and also includes a motion-activated spotlight and two-way audio. A 5W SolarPlus 2.0 panel is included for continuous outdoor charging. Anker specifically lists the E50 as compatible with Google Assistant, but does not mention Apple Home support.
EUFYCAM E52
The eufyCam E52 takes a slightly different approach, pairing a fixed wide-angle bullet camera with a separate motorised pan-tilt-zoom lens. The fixed camera maintains a wider view of the area, while the PTZ camera can independently follow a subject. Video is recorded in 4K, with up to 8x digital zoom, and eufy says facial details can be captured from distances of up to 40 feet. Once again, no Apple Home or Matter compatibility is mentioned for this model.
WINDOW CAMERA E10
The Window Camera E10 is designed specifically for indoor installation while monitoring an outdoor area through a window. It attaches to the inside of the glass using a no-trace adhesive mount and provides 25º of adjustable tilt. Anti-reflection optics are intended to minimise glare from the window, while recording is offered at up to 2.5K resolution with colour night vision and continuous wired recording. This could potentially make the E10 useful for apartments and rental properties where external camera installation isn’t practical, although Apple Home compatibility is once again not mentioned.
LOCAL PROCESSING AND HOMEBASE
All five products form part of the wider Edge 5.0 system and connect through eufy’s HomeBase S380. Anker says sensitive biometric information is processed locally on the devices, in keeping with eufy’s emphasis on local-first data storage. The company also states that the products do not require a monthly subscription for their core functionality, although optional or premium features may still involve subscription fees.
For Apple Home users, though, the announcement leaves some important questions unanswered. The TrackLight Cam S1 and Video Doorbell S4 are the two devices in the range explicitly described as Apple Home compatible, while the other three products are not. Anker also provides no details on HomeKit Secure Video support or how much of the more advanced functionality of the S1 or S4 will be available through Apple’s Home app. There is similarly no indication that any of the new products support Matter.

The TrackLight Cam S1 will be priced at US$299.99 and is expected to become available in late October.

Finally, the Window Camera E10 will be priced at US$79.99 and is expected to launch later this year in selected markets.

The S4 web page clearly states “Compatible with Apple Home (requires HomeBase S380)”.
You’re correct, I’ll update the article accordingly. Thanks for the input.
While you updated the top of the article to indicate that the S4 is listed as Apple Home compatible (although FYI Anker does specify the HomeBase S380 is required), the last paragraph of your article still states “The TrackLight Cam S1 is the only device in the range explicitly described as Apple Home compatible, while the other four products are not.” At the risk of being a nitpick Nancy, I just wanted to point out the discrepancy.
I appreciate the follow up. It should ll read correctly now.
S4 video doorbell launched in the US and for sale, ship date says late October. Thanks for the article!
What’s the difference between the E52 and the S4 PTZ camera’s?
The E52 is essentially a more affordable two-lens take on the S4 concept. The S4 has a 4K fixed camera plus a dual-2K wide/telephoto PTZ system, whereas the E52 has a 2K fixed camera and a single 4K PTZ camera. Both offer 360° tracking and 8× zoom, but the S4 has the more advanced three-lens imaging system, while the E52 costs considerably less.
