Eve Motion (review)
This was the first motion sensor I purchased, and to be honest, at the time I was sorely disappointed at how slow it was to react. This was also the case with the Eve Door & Window sensor. Thankfully that all changed in late 2017 when new firmware was issued to deal with this. Since then, both devices are pretty damn quick now.
I’ve got five motion sensors, including the one built into the D-Link Omna Camera and this is easily the largest of them all in terms of a standalone, one trick pony device. It still looks pretty slick despite this and does the job well. It uses three standard AA batteries, which seem to last about 6 months with average use.
As I’ve mentioned with all the other Eve devices, this connects via Bluetooth, so the range is slightly more limited than wifi, but in practice it works just as well in my experience.
