HomeKit Enabled Mi Desk Lamp 1S Available June 1st
We previously reported on another Mi lighting product due for release with HomeKit support, namely the Mi Desk Lamp 1S, and can confirm this product will indeed be HomeKit compatible, with a new image released today showing both the ‘Works with Mijia’ and ‘Works with Apple HomeKit’ marques.
First spotted on Weibo by Jerry Lee from Taiwan, the Mi desk lamp 1S is based on the original Mi LED desk lamp, but with additional upgrades, to the quality and lumens, the device is capable of.
The other device you see in the image above is a new rechargeable desk lamp, although this will not be HomeKit compatible, although as it will work with the Mi Home app, you’ll still be able to control it via Siri Shortcuts.
The Mi rechargeable desk lamp supports three-speed colour temperature adjustment, charging and unloading, and a long battery life of more than 40 hours. The official pre-sale price is 99 yuan. Both products will be officially launched on June 1 via the  Xiaomi Mall, Tmall and Jingdong channels in China, with online international stores expected to follow suit soon after.
Going back to the Mi Desk Lamp 1S, the luminous flux has increased by 73% compared to the first gen, up to 520lm, and the central illumination value has also increased to 1250lx, 66% higher than the first generation.
In addition to the increase in brightness and uniformity, its colour rendering index has also been upgraded from a generation of Ra83 to Ra90, creating a more accurate colour rendition.
In terms of battery life, the Mi rechargeable desk lamp uses a 2000mAh battery, which can last for more than 4 hours at maximum brightness, the intermediate setting can last for more than 7 hours, and the lowest setting can last for more than 40 hours! The lamp utilises a Micro-USB interface.
