Arlo Release Update to Bring HomeKit to Pro and Pro 2 Cameras

After missing their Q1 deadline to bring HomeKit functionality to some of their cameras, Arlo have finally come through with updates to their base stations – required for running the Arlo Pro and Pro 2 – to bring HomeKit functionality to these cameras. If you’re an owner of the VMB4000 or VMB4500 Arlo Base Stations, there should be an update waiting to bring this additional functionality, although early reports are coming in that whilst the update mentions HomeKit functionality, once added, some users are claiming they’re unable to get the required HomeKit code, that should be generated within the Arlo app.

This brings to the number of HomeKit-compatible Arlo cameras to three, with the Arlo Baby Cam acquiring HomeKit functionality early on, with further built-in sensors gaining exposure to HomeKit earlier this year. There’s still no update available for the Arlo Ultra 4K however, but as it was mentioned as gaining HomeKit support at the same time as the Pro and Pro 2, back at CES 2019, an update should be coming soon, we hope.
