Arlo Pro 3 Camera Gains HomeKit Support
As first reported by Andrew O’Hara at Appleinsider.com, Arlo has pushed an update for their Smart Hub (model VMB4540), that brings HomeKit functionality to their Arlo Pro 3 cameras. This newer model, whilst similar to its still available predecessor, the Arlo Pro 2, supports 2K video, has colour night vision, which is a recent development in the world of smart cameras, as well as a 160º field of view.
Whilst the expected HomeKit update is more than welcome, the Arlo Pro 3 still lacks support for HomeKit Secure Video, which for many people, is the new benchmark for HomeKit-enabled cameras.
If you’re lucky enough to have the Arlo Pro system, with the VMB4540 SmartHub, then you can update your system to get HomeKit compatibility via a firmware update available in the Arlo app.
Arlo Pro 3 cameras, as well as the SmartHub, are available from Amazon.com now, with options for 0ne, two, three or four camera system setups, as well as just an add-on camera if you already have the basic setup.
