Ecobee Contact Motion Sensor

The Ecobee Smart Sensor is the first Homekit compatible device that combines motion and contact sensor into a single device. The Smart Sensor is a 915 Mhz range device which means that you should get good connectivity over a wide area to the required Ecobee Smart Camera or Ecobee Thermostat.

Currently, the Smart Sensor is exposed to Apple HomeKit only if the Smart Sensor is paired with the Ecobee Thermostat, but this feature should also be available in the future via a firmware update to the Ecobee Smart Camera.

A key component in the Ecobee Haven Security system, the Smart Sensor allows you to extend the visibility of the Ecobee system to include opening windows and doors in addition to the existing occupancy/motion sensors provided by their traditional remote sensors.
