SwitchBot K20+ Pro Modular Robot Available to Preorder

Following its preview at CES 2025, SwitchBot has officially launched the K20+ Pro – a modular household robot designed to carry out a range of domestic tasks. The K20+ Pro combines vacuuming, home monitoring, air purification, and item delivery in a single platform. Pre-orders are now available via SwitchBot’s website.

At the centre of the system is FusionPlatform™, a modular base that integrates with various SwitchBot components. It includes ClawLock™, a proprietary attachment mechanism designed to allow the robot to switch between different functions and accessories.

The K20+ Pro is compatible with several modules, sold as individual kits or bundles:

SMART DELIVERY ASSISTANT

The robot can transport small items such as snacks, packages, or pet supplies. FusionPlatform supports a payload of up to 8kg/17.6lb and is intended for basic household transport tasks.

PATROL KIT

When fitted with a SwitchBot Pan/Tilt Cam Plus – 2K or 3K (which are not HomeKit compatible), the K20+ Pro can be used for mobile home monitoring. Features include motion detection, live streaming, and push notifications via the SwitchBot app.

AIR PURIFIER KIT

Paired with a SwitchBot Air Purifier (Matter compatible), the robot can travel between rooms to provide mobile air filtration. The purifier component uses HEPA-level filtration to reduce allergens, odours, and airborne pollutants.

AIR FLOW KIT

Combined with the SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan (HomeKit compatible via a Switchbot Matter Bridge), the Air Flow Kit moves from room to room to support even air circulation throughout the home.

DIY AND CUSTOM INTEGRATION

Additional accessories include a cordless vacuum, adjustable device stand, and optional all-in-one “Omni Ultimate Kit”, which includes all available modules.

SwitchBot state that the FusionPlatform™ is designed to be customisable. It includes built-in power ports and supports third-party devices such as speakers or UV sterilisation modules. Users can attach 3D-printed parts or custom-built accessories for additional use cases. SwitchBot has also announced plans for a DIY competition later in the year, inviting users to submit their own modular designs.

NAVIGATION AND PLATFORM SUPPORT

The robot uses D-ToF LiDAR and dual laser sensors to navigate with centimetre-level precision. Whilst the K20+ Pro integrates with major smart home platforms including Amazon Alexa, and Google Home, as well as Siri Shortcuts, and the wider SwitchBot ecosystem, the K20+Pro itself is compatible with the previously mentioned ecosystems via the Matter integration option.

One aspect that could pose problems for some attachments is with them staying connected to the WiFi network; So the Switchbot cameras and air purifiers, which would normally be kept in one place, could potentially lose their connection to a specific network is they stray into a dead spot or where the signal is weak whilst moving around on the K20+ Pro mobile platform.
