Insignia Wifi Garage Door Controller
Use your smartphone to open your garage door with this Insignia Wi-Fi smart garage door controller. An easy-to-install sensor works with your mobile device to open and close the door, while compatibility with Alexa, Apple Home and Google Home systems lets you integrate this controller into your home automation setup. This Insignia Wi-Fi smart garage door controller includes an LED indicator to let you know when it’s connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Compatible with most garage setups
Works in most setups if you have a sectional garage door, you have a strong Wi-Fi signal in your garage and if your garage door wall control does not have a learn button.
Works with Apple HomeKit
Controlling this HomeKit-enabled accessory automatically and away from home requires an Apple TV with tvOS 10.1 or later or an iPad with iOS 10.1 or later set up as a home hub.
Works with Siri
Send voice commands from your device.
Push and in-app notifications
Inform you when your garage door opened or closed.
Wi-Fi connectivity
You must have a strong, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal in your garage that uses either WPA or WPA2 security.
Hi Simon can you also control the insignia with Sir voice comands when Apple TV is set up as a controller does it require then also Bluetooth cooection withe the Apple TV or only needs to be connected to same WiFi because I am not familiar all the connection types.
This only requires a 2.4ghz wifi signal, not Bluetooth. I don’t have this product, but there’s no reason why you can’t control this via Siri on Apple TV, although if it has the same security features of a HomeKit door lock, you would only be able to lock the garage door via Siri in HomePod, not unlock/ open.
Only needs Wi-Fi. I have one in my garage.
It is fairly basic but a decent unit.
Is there a link to the manufacturer as I can’t find it anywhere in uk?
Hi David
Insignia is the in-house brand of BestBuy in the US, so it’s unlikely you’ll find it in UK stores at the moment. They do sell some insignia products on amazon.com, but this is currently only available on BestBuy’s own site, as far as I’m aware.
Anybody has any idea if this is compatible with 220volt plug points?
I want to get one with the correct adapter but can’t find any information if it is just 110volt or can be used worldwide?
There should be a rating on the prong side – I’m guessing it will just be 110volt due to the American plug being part of the unit already…
