New HomeKit Compatible Mijia Bedside Lamp Out Dec 12th
Mijia, one arm of the Xiaomi Smart Home sector, alongside Aqara, are releasing an update to their popular bedside lamp, only this one will be HomeKit compatible. Priced at 169RMB (approx. US$25, UK£20), the lamp will work with the Mi Home app, but will also be HomeKit compatible, so we presume it will either be added to the Mi Home app and appear in HomeKit, or more likely, need to be added separately.
Either way, due to it being a wi-fi connected device, it won’t be required to go through Aqara’s HomeKit compatible Hub, which is Zigbee based. The full colour light can be controlled directly via HomeKit, and has a maximum and minimum brightness of 400 and 2 lumens, respectively. There’s still very little info at this point, but as soon as we know more, we’ll be sure to report it here.
