Sengled HomeKit Compatible Zigbee Hub Released

As first reported on iMore.com, the newly HomeKit enabled Zigbee hub by Sengled is now available to purchase on amazon.com, as well as the company’s own online store. In case you’re unaware of Sengled or the new hub, just like with Philips Hue and Aqara, the hub and its child devices use Zigbee for their method of communication, with all devices going through the hub, which then connects to your network via an ethernet connection (a cable is included in the pack). The new hub, of course, now connects to HomeKit, which means many of Sengled’s devices will now get exposed to HomeKit.

The new hub can support up to 64 smart lights and accessories, which includes things such as light bulbs, of both the standard white and full-colour varieties, a smart plug, door sensor, and a light strip. It should be noted that their current non-HomeKit hub is still for sale, so if you’re planning on getting into the Sengled side of things for your smart home, do make sure that you get the right model.

The hub is currently priced at only US$29.99, so it’s around half the price of the Aqara hub, although it’s fair to say that whilst Aqara doesn’t have any lighting products for the US at present, they do support more device types. You can check out a range of products Sengled offer in their Amazon store.
