LifeSmart to Launch HomeKit Starter Sets

Even though in some ways LifeSmart has been a bit late to the HomeKit party, at least officially speaking, they have been doing a lot of catching up recently, with a string of new and existing devices, many of which have gained HomeKit functionality via their base station. Now the company are setting about offering a couple of ‘Starter Sets’, much like the Aqara Starter set that came with the Aqara hub and a basic set of sensors, button and plug.

LifeSmart in this instance is offering two separate kits, one labelled the Smart Home Starter Set, and the Smart Home Set, although there isn’t actually a lot of difference between the two;

• Motion Sensor
• Environmental Sensor
• Clicker
• Smart Plug (CN, UK, EU, FR & US options)

Smart Home Set

• Smart Station
• Door/Window Sensor
• Motion Sensor
• Environmental Sensor
• Water Leak Sensor
• Clicker
• Smart Plug (CN, UK, EU, FR & US options)
• Omni Indoor Camera (optional)

So in the case of the latter option, you get a Water Leak Sensor, along with the Omni indoor camera. It should be pointed out that whilst the box is being branded as a HomeKit package, the ‘Clickers‘ (essentially a small square button that can be stuck to surfaces) and the Omni camera are not actually HomeKit compatible but will work with the other devices that are exposed to HomeKit, albeit via the company’s own app. There’s no word on pricing just yet, and what kind of availability to expect, but given their latest products, the Cololight Plus, and the Cololight Strip are both available on Amazon.com now, with HomeKit compatibility for both products, it looks like a good bet that these will be available in the UK, EU and the US soon enough.
