Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Cam Now HomeKit Compatible

Whilst it never really seemed in any doubt, today Arlo announced that their recently released Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera has now been officially updated to work with Apple HomeKit.

this follows on from their regular outdoor cameras that are all already HomeKit compatible, although as many will note, not compatible with HomeKit Secure Video (HSV).

This recent addition to the Arlo line features a battery-free design, 2K HDR video, colour night vision, and of course a built-in floodlight, capable of pushing out up to 3,000 lumens. It also comes with a siren, motion detection, two-way audio, 160° field of view, and can work in 100-240v range at 50/60Hz, so it’ll work pretty much anywhere.

as Arlo has their own subscription-based monitoring and video storage solution, we probably won’t be seeing HSV on Arlo cameras any time soon.

The price is relatively competitive, at just US$249.99, which is cheaper than the also recently released outdoor floodlight camera from Netatmo, although if Netatmo follow through on their promise of support for HSV, then the price difference might not be enough, even though we’d go as far to say that the Arlo is all round a better product when it comes to the specs, and design.
