Meross Add More Lighting Products to Expanding Lineup
Chinese smart-home company Meross has today added two more new products to its ever-expanding lineup of smart products, which cover everything from switches and garage door openers, to the forthcoming air purifier we discovered last month. These new additions are both lighting products; the Smart LED Desk Lamp and a new BR30 LED Light Bulb. Both of these devices use WiFi, as does practically all of their range, with the lamp being the second such product they’ve launched in the last couple of months. These new products not only work with HomeKit, but also Amazon, Google, SmartThings and IFTTT.
The new Desk Lamp, which uses 2.4GHz WiFi, is made of aluminium and comes in a dark grey finish, much like the iMac Pro that came out a while back. It features warm to cool whites and is adjustable via HomeKit apps, or the company’s own app. The lamp stands at just under 400mm tall, with the arm of the lamp, which contains the LEDs, standing at 423mm in length. The arm can be adjusted by up to 180º, in either direction. There’s no wattage listed, so it’s fair to assume it will be available in both North America and Europe, as it has FCC, IC, CE, RoHS, and WEEE certification.
The new colour bulb, a BR30 type with an E26 size base, is full colour, and also uses 2.4GHz WiFi, and comes with an A++ Energy rating. The lamp is 14W and throws out a maximum of 13oolm of light. It is only currently listed as working with 90-125w, so it’s clearly not designed for Europe at this time. The bulb also has FCC and UL certifications.
Neither products seem to be available to buy at the time of writing, despite the presence of ‘Buy Now’ buttons.
