Orvibo Launches Combined Switch, Hub and Display w/ Matter, Zigbee
China-based Orvibo has launched the Mixpad M5, a smart hub that integrates Matter and Zigbee 3.0 gateways, with built-in Alexa. This device combines the functions of a gateway, switch, and speaker, and is compatible with third-party Matter-enabled devices.
According to IDC data, Orvibo has led central control panel shipments for four consecutive years. The Mixpad M5 features four-channel switch control, allowing it to manage numerous peripheral devices. It supports mainstream music platforms, providing “high-quality” audio, according to the press release, however, this will still be limited for a device of this type.
The Mixpad M5 supports both the Matter standard and acts as a Zigbee 3.0 gateway, for compatibility across various brands and devices. With built-in Alexa, users can control smart devices via voice commands. The device supports up to 14 languages.
Key features include:
Multi-Intelligent Control: Operate via app (compatible with Apple Home, Google Home, or the Orvibo App), voice commands, or touchscreen.
Advanced Lighting Control: Adjust brightness and create custom lighting atmospheres.
Smart Notifications: Access weather forecasts, set alarms, and more.
The Mixpad M5 is available in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. For more details, visit Orvibo’s official website or local stores.
Assuming that Matter then allows us to connect it to Homekit systems, I’ve avoided anything that does not specifically address Homekit. And Adding Alexa…hmm. Always a bit uneasy about that since I don’t want anything listening in..
