OREiN Releases First Matter Certified Bathroom Exhaust Fan
Following the release of the Matter 1.3 specification, AiDot has announced the launch of the OREiN OL05S – the first smart bathroom exhaust fan certified under the Matter protocol. According to AiDot, this is the first product of its kind to carry Matter 1.3 certification.
The OL05S combines ventilation, lighting, a humidity sensor, and Bluetooth audio into a single unit. It supports integration with all of the smart home platforms that also support Matter, including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings, without requiring a proprietary hub, due to it using Matter over WiFi.
The fan supports airflow adjustment between 110 and 160 CFM, with both settings designed for quieter operation. Lighting temperature can be adjusted from 2700K to 6500K, and RGB ambient lighting is also available with support for 16 million colours. The device can be controlled via the AiDot app, voice assistants, or the included wall-mountable remote.
A built-in humidity sensor automatically activates the fan at 60% humidity – lower than the typical 70% activation point on many standard fans – aiming to reduce mould risk and energy consumption. The OL05S also features a fast-mount bracket intended to simplify installation and reduce the need for precise positioning or cutting.
