LiFX Brings New Matter Lighting Products to CES

LiFX came out strong at this year’s CES, with a couple of new lighting products, along with a new set of ‘skylights’ from parent company, Feit Electric.

The LIFX Luna is an interestingly designed, multifunctional smart lamp meant to enhance any space, from desks and nightstands to wall displays. Built with the same technology as LIFX’s ceiling lights, the Luna offers 26 controllable colour zones and delivers up to 1000 lumens of brightness (usually when set to cool white).

Key Features
  • Customisable Lighting – 26 individually controllable colour zones let you create dynamic, personalised lighting effects (via the LiFX app).
  • Bright and Adaptable – With up to 1000 lumens of brightness, it can serve as both functional and ambient lighting.
  • Device-Binding Technology – Four built-in buttons allow seamless control of the Luna and other LIFX or Matter-enabled devices, even without an internet connection.
  • Matter Integration: Compatible with major smart home ecosystems, including Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home, using Matter over WiFi.

The LIFX Luna will be available later this year, exclusively at The Home Depot stores and online, priced at US$69.99, which for a LiFX product and in general, is a pretty decent price.

LIFX continues to explore new areas of lighting with the new 13 in. x 26 in. Smart Oval SuperColor Ceiling Light. The company is also offering a more standard round ceiling light with much the same features.

The oval model offers up to 5,000lm, and 120 separately controllable zones, whilst the circular model offers roughly half this at 2,850lm and 56 zones.

Key Features
  • Polychrome Technology – Features 120/56 independently controllable colour zones for multi-layered lighting effects.
  • Customisable Dual Lighting Modes – Switch between functional white or colour light to suit any mood or setting.
  • Dynamic Visuals – Create effects like gradients, flickering flames, fluffy clouds, or golden sunsets, adding a unique ambience to any room.
  • Seamless Control – Manage lighting through voice commands, smart scheduling, or the LIFX app, designed for easy and intuitive use.
  • Matter Integration – Fully compatible with major smart home ecosystems, including Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home using Matter over WiFi.

The LIFX Smart Oval SuperColor Ceiling Light will be available exclusively at The Home Depot stores and online in February 2025, priced at $149.99.
