Hue 3.0 App finally available for download

Philips Hue have finally released their long anticipated update to the official Hue app (for iOS & Android). The interface has been totally overhauled, with a fresh, more colourful display. Aside from this, the navigation of the app has been improved for quicker access to your favourite scenes, last used colours, and an easier way to ‘pick and match’ colours in your rooms. In addition, if you use the ‘scenes’ section of the app, they’ve introduced 30 new scenes to choose from. You can also choose your own photos and have the app take the colour palette from the image to create a colour scene to match. While many HomeKit users (including myself) probably don’t tend to use the app for much other than updates, this is a small but welcome update if you want to use Philips’ superior colour options – at least when you compare it to the colour wheel in the Home app.
