Coway Bringing HomeKit Compatible Air Purifier to Market

Coway, the electronics manufacturer known for their air and water purifier products amongst other things, are bringing a brand new HomeKit compatible Air Purifier to the Asian market – the Coway ‘Pure Air Tower’, model number AP-1217L(H). Details are sketchy at the moment, but a non-HomeKit version of this product already exists, namely the AP1217L, which we assume has much the same functions.

Their Chinese website doesn’t current offer a lot of info regarding how to actually purchase the device and when it will be generally available, and while all the copy is in Mandarin, we have been able to get the following information on this product.

  • display to show pm2.5 levels
  • utilises a reusable filter
  • indicator to notify when replaceable filter needs changing
  • Apple HomeKit compatible
  • Smart auto speed changing function
  • HEPA+ filter to combat formaldehyde and other pollutants
  • 4 different fan modes

Assuming this comes to market, it will be the first officially HomeKit-enabled air purifier, which is quite surprising, given how long, and how popular air purifiers are given the current pollution issues much of the world – especially China – face on a day-to-day level.

  • Coway is Korean not Chinese.

    • Thanks for the info, I’ll update the listing accordingly.
