IFTTT Compatibility Comes to iDevices

We’ve been fans of the iDevices’ range  of smart plugs since before we even started this site, so to know they’re still bringing additional functionality is great, and that small addition is IFTTT compatibility. Their wall switches and outlets are all now compatible with the service. So, if you own any iDevices ‘devices’, you will be able to connect with other smart devices through IFTTT – even if they’re not HomeKit compatible.

Although we only have the iDevices Switches (actually a smart plug) and the non-HomeKit ‘Instant Switch’ (actually a switch…), they are amongst our favourite vendors for smart home ‘stuff’, and both products have been serving the house very well. To enable this new functionality, you’re going to have to download the IFTTT app, and create an account. Once that’s done, you connect the iDevices products you have to the IFTTT service via iDevices’ own app, which you should also download if you haven’t already. From there it’s a case of how you set up automations and triggers between these products and others, so the just let you imagination run wild, although if you’re really stuck for ideas, then you can check out what are called ‘IFTTT Recipes’ to help get you started with a few presets.
