Eve Announce Preorders for HomeKit Cam Launching June 23rd

Eve has officially announced the launch date for their anticipated first camera product – the Eve Cam – which can now be pre-ordered from their own site, and shortly thereafter via partner stores, including Amazon etc. Priced at US$149.95 / €149.94, the Eve Cam is not only the company’s very first foray into the area of video cameras but along with all other Eve products, is exclusive to HomeKit. The camera also boasts HomeKit secure Video (HSV) from the outset, although unlike the forthcoming Onvis C3, which features a slot for an SD Card to record onto the device itself, in addition to being uploaded to iCloud, the Eve Cam doesn’t come with an option for SD recording. This may not necessarily be a bad thing, however, as recordings to the cloud are inherently safer than recordings on a device that could potentially be stolen along with the onboard recordings.
