Lutron to Unveil New In-Wall Fan Control Switch

Lutron sent out an email to their subscribers recently, announcing a new product as ‘coming soon’ and “our Caseta Family is Growing”. Well it would seem, from filings at FCC, that the product is a new fan control switch. Brad Cohen from the ‘Apple HomeKit Users Group’ on Facebook, first spotted a PDF manual outlining the installation process for said switch, while Don MacKay managed to find an image of the switch itself (see below).

As Lutron Caseta light switches are already homeKit compatible via their own hub, it’s fair to assume that this will also be HomeKit compatible, although we’ve yet to confirm this. The switch itself confirms to North American electrical standards 120v~ 50/60Hz, with the model number being PD-FSQN.

More information on this switch is sure to follow when they presumably announce it at CES 2019.

UPDATE: Lutron have said there will be no HomeKit compatibility at launch, and have declined to state whether HomeKit integration will follow.

  • I bought this at Home Depot and installed it today. It works great with HomeKit through the Lutron hub.
