Yeelight Follow up New Floor Lamp With Two New Desk Lamps
Just a day after we announced the release of the Yeelight Star Floor Lamp, Yeelight have now made the companion Star Desk Lamp available to consumers in China via the jd.com website. As mentioned in the aforementioned post for the floor lamp, the desk lamp follows the same form factor but with a much shorter central stem.
Unlike the floor lamp however, the desk lamp comes in two varieties. the standard Star Desk Lamp and the upgraded Star Desk Lamp Pro, with the latter coming with a built in 10W Qi compatible fast-charging pad. The standard desk lamp lacks this special feature.
The ‘shade’ section is fixed at a 30º angle, and as with the floor lamp has tunable white LEDs in the downfacing section, with along with a mood light for upward-facing part of the lamp.
The lamps are currently only available in China, with prices for the Pro and standard light at 329RMB and 299RMB respectively (approx. US$42 and US$46), but should soon start making an appearance on places like AliExpress and GearBest.
Those are nice and practical bedside lamps especially with the charger. Probably more practical than the jellybean Mi Bedside lamps.
I’m in two minds about them. I like the idea of them, but making them look like a shade is a bit odd to me, but I’m growing to like them a bit more.
